I believe by now you know who these 2 beautiful talented girls are. Well known from the Youtube with the name Jayesslee,  these 2 make the most amazing song covers. The first time I heard about them, their talent is so rare and comes together with such a beauty, I started to like them and their songs. And subsequently I get to know that they are Christians who loved God. I’m pretty sure too some of you might have watch this video where they share about their faith in God and their testimony in City Harvest Church, Singapore. If  you havent seen it, feel free to sit and watch.

The part where she said ” its not only in good time when its easy to praise the lord..when everything is going right. But when things are tough, when to us as human beings we dont understand what good there is in this situation, that is when you have to CHOOSE to REJOICE.”

I believe you and I can relate to that. Sometimes, well, most of the times, its so easy to say Praise The Lord when good things happen to us. When results are flying colors, when something that we wanted were granted and approved. Or when our prayers are being answered. But during the hard times, when you feel like you’ve been waiting for so long for an answer, when you struggle with your studies, when you struggle with relationships with people around you and its beyond repair, when someone you loved died etc.

I have been to the grey area and I dont even want to tell God that He is good despite all that. Lets be honest. There are times right?

I guess that is why God gave us free will to make a choice. Despite the bad and good, will I rejoice?

I had an awesome one over here. My first ‘reunion dinner’ with a family, my first ang pao collections after so many years. And house visiting continues on tomorrow.
Anyway, on the other side of note, I know I’ve talked about this perfume previously. I’ve been wearing it again and I am head over heels!! Trouble by Boucheron is becoming my top among the top perfume collection! Gonna hunt for MORE Boucheron perfumes! Last I hear is this brand is only popular in the Europe. Hmmm…

Started to take pictures of places I been to around Penang. So here are the few I took.

Was passing by this place on our way for din sum breakfast. Just if you’re wondering, this cemetery is right in the middle of Georgetown. We found this interesting coz I’ve never seen one before. Have you?

Went up to Batu Feringghi during the weekend. The view up the cliff was spectacular despite the narrow and winding roads going up there.

The houses/condos up here are just as beautiful like the ones in Beverly Hills.

My second trip to Ingolf Kneipe in Tanjung Bungah. A very well known german restaurant in Penang. Well, I’m not sure about the locals here but I am head over heels with it. Why? Food quality is superb, the portion is amazing and price if not a little bit pricey but affordable.

The best mushroom soup so far. everything is just nice. If you’re planning to eat take their main course or eat heavy meals, just order a bowl is enough for 2 person. This cost about RM10.90 if not mistaken.

I can’t remember the exact name, but it’s their German Patties with black pepper sauce. I’m not a huge fan of black pepper but the patties are delicious! I think this was about RM15 or less.

And this is one of their main course, grilled pork with grilled tomatoes, salad and potato wedges. Man I could eat up the potato wedges alone! Everything is so delish!

Next up, this amazing Rosted Duck rice!! I am not a duck person until our vacation to Perth and UK. The roasted duck over there had changed my perception towards eating duck. So back home (Miri) and now in Penang, the hunt for a real good roasted duck meat is on. I think we found it. Not only the duck meat is amazing, the roasted pork too! *gulp*

And oh, Chinese New Year is just around the corner. And I am looking forward to have mine on this little sunny island.

Just last monday (9/1/12) I was just at the mall to do some printer shopping when I saw this. Someone committed suicide from one of the malls here in Penang. The red arrow pointing is the dead body. I stayed awhile together with the rest of the onlookers, first time witness mahhh!!

Such an interesting week I have had right?

So how was your Christmas? The family had Christmas open-house and this year was more settled. Unlike last year where everyone invited everyone. So tiring!!!

This year’s Christmas I celebrated with the worst back pain ever. Nothing much I could do but just bear with the pain and serve drinks.

Two more days to new year. How time flies!! No more new year resolution for me this time. It’ll be more like challenging myself to be a better person to go to the next level. On the other side of note, this is James Morrison and I just can’t stop listening to his songs.

Bear with me. I still remember how I entered Boots and saw it displayed on the makeup counter and I actually had the nerve to say “ahh i’ll pass..”. Puiii.

Now when I think about it, it ticks me off. Here I am paying more than the original price. Even after conversion, it’s still so much cheaper. Bengang tauu!

But but but, I did purchased something from Boots (comforting myself la…). I got myself an epilator. It was £129 after discount.

This one also was SUPER indecisive. Didnt know which one to get etc. Sigh.

So the moral of the story, if you’re in overseas, JUST GET IT!

I remember when I was sharing to someone who I look up as a mentor back home, about my struggles and dilemmas. I went back to Penang that day with a determined heart to change and to be changed.

I remember when she said God will do greater things and that is the very reason why I am here. I remember how I use to lead such a confusing life that even in my spirit I felt so drenched, confusing and exhausted. And just because I’m a christian, others seems to think life is perfect. We are after all humans and we go through the same thing.

Now I see God’s hand moving forward and me walking towards His leading. He placed ALL kinds of people with ALL kinds of characters around me. It was overwhelming at first. But with prayers and His words, all is well.

I even learned to pray for my family every single day since then. When I told God that I want to be a person who prays, the very next day, something bad came up back home and that’s when I realized God is giving me a new task, to pray!

Learning to accept that life will not always be smooth sailing all the time. Every time my thoughts goes back to the loved ones, it’s like as if I only can find bitterness and anger and resentment. This I have to come before Him everyday. I have faith that things will fall into place one day. God’s love will overcome everything.

Are you still reading this? Since you have reached here, I don’t know what are you going through in life. But what I just shared here, I took a whole lot of courage to put it up. So whatever struggles you are going through right now, it’s never to late to ask Him for help. God delights in impossibilities. If your problems is driving you to the cliff, God is there with you. My encouragement for you is, just come as you are and let Him take His rightful place in your heart.

I believe it’s not a coincidence that I am here in Penang to just further my studies but I know I am here because God wants me to. Like I’ve said, a lot of things had happened recently, especially in my very own personal life and my walk with God. To cut story short here, I was like a desert few months ago but in just few weeks, God reveal Himself to me (obviously not literally) but in His own ways.

He restored me in such a way that my skeptical thoughts, my negative attitudes and the way I look at things began to change. But most importantly, God really lets me know that He is in control no matter how bleak the situation is.

I’ve always wondered how does it feels or how do I know when the holy spirit speaks to you. During our campus revo session, we are to pray and seek for the His guidance and to wait on Him. I’ve been there all the time and nothing ever happens. I heard nothing nor I felt a thing. In fact, this time, it was the same still. I always anticipate to hear Him during our campus revo session.

Amazing things happened few days after. Was in Tesco with a friend doing some shopping for our Christmas lunch party. And that was when I felt the holy spirit just speak  and nudging. This experience itself is thrilling and exciting.

Now that everything is over (the lunch for lecturer i mean) I came back feeling exhausted. A part of me feels like I can’t do this anymore. I felt like its breaking my emotions, especially my patience. Dealing with difficult people is really challenging. Prayers is needed ALL THE TIME!

Every time, I kept on asking God, why am I stuck with such people etc. But the Lord gently reply, you need to learn all this before you do greater things for me.

And to think about it again, this is nothing compared to the working field next time right?
